Since moving out, I’ve had to learn to cook for myself, which has been a huge learning experience. I'm not the greatest cook and also a picky eater, so it can be difficult for me to find recipes that I enjoy and can make. However, this recipe is an excellent combination of easy and delicious. I love anything that involves chicken and cheese, and this recipe has been one of my favorites since I was a little kid. It’s really easy and heats up well, so anyone that loves leftovers will probably enjoy this! I’ve become a big fan of cooking this in my crock pot, but you can also make it in the oven if you prefer that!
Easy Cheesy Chicken
Ingredients
Chicken breasts (number depends on how many people you want to serve)
2 cans of cream of mushroom soup
1 can of milk
shredded cheese (to taste)
salt and pepper (to taste)
instant rice
Crock pot recipe
Spray crock pot with vegetable oil spray.
Add the desired number of chicken breasts.
Add 2 cans of cream of mushroom soup.
Using the empty soup cans, add 1 can of milk to the mixture.
Add salt and pepper.
Cook for 6 hours on the low setting, 4 on high. Stir periodically.
Around 15 minutes before you plan on serving the meal, add as much shredded cheese as you like to the crock pot.
Cook your desired amount of instant rice. This only takes 5 minutes, but I’d recommend cooking it around 15 minutes before serving the meal so it has time to cool.
Once everything is ready, stir the chicken and cheese mixture and serve it over rice!
Oven recipe
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Spray glass pan with vegetable oil spray.
Add the desired number of chicken breasts.
Add 2 cans of cream of mushroom soup.
Using the empty soup cans, add 1 can of milk to the mixture.
Add salt and pepper.
Spread the soup mixture over chicken as evenly as you can.
Cover pan in foil and bake for 45 minutes.
Cook your desired amount of rice.
Take pan out of oven and sprinkle with desired amount of cheese.
Serve and enjoy!
This recipe is not only easy, but it’s filling and delicious. Even though I still do not like cooking, it’s definitely my favorite thing to make and eat! It’s the perfect dish to help you transition into adult cooking even if you don’t enjoy making meals. /BG
