When I think about self care I think about making myself feel like the best version of myself inside and out. For me this starts with a tried and true skin care routine. Who wouldn't want perfect skin?
The first best thing when it comes to starting a skin care routine is a gentle cleanser. A gentle cleanser will start by removing any access makeup and prepping your skin for serums.
Affordable option: Cerave Hydrating Facial Cleanser ($14.99)
High end option: Korres Greek Yoghurt Foaming Cream Cleanser ($28)
The second step in any good skin care routine is a toner. Toner will do many amazing things for your skin and this is where you get to customize what product you use based on your skin type, and needs. If you are not sure check out this youtube video.
Normal or Combo: Laneige Cream Skin Mist
Third step you will want to take is adding one serum into the routine to see how your skin reacts. This could be anything pertaining to what you feel like your skin needs. For example if you feel like your skin is dull, you would want to add a Vitamin C serum to your morning routine. What you should do is look in the mirror and see what results you would like to achieve. For now here are some basic and gentle starter serums:
Brightness: Vitamin C Serum
Moisturizing: Hyaluronic Acid
Redness Reducing: Niacinimide
Finally, you will want to end with a good and gentle moisturizer to lock in all of the benefits of the toner and serums. Pro tip: always add some extra moisturizer to your neck and chest.
Dry Skin: First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream
Normal or Combo: Inky List Omega Water Cream
You will feel your best when you take the extra steps to fuel your body inside but don't forget to take the extra steps on the outside to really elevate your mood! /AJ
